12 Step Addiction Recovery

Group Therapy as Part of 12 Step Addiction RecoveryWe have a unique way of integrating the 12 Steps into our program so that each individual can be met exactly where they are in their process of recovery.

Personal. We hold the 12 Steps as a structure for addiction recovery, and we realize that in order for recovery to be a life-long commitment to mindful living, the approach must be fluid, open, and totally non-judgmental. Our clients are invited to take those aspects of 12 Step addiction recovery that resonate with them, and leave the rest. We create an environment where personal boundaries are not infringed upon and where genuine trust can be built so that the process of recovery and transformation is rooted in each individual’s personal path.

Connected. We hold 12 meetings within our own space to familiarize our clients with the teachings of the Steps and structure of the meetings. Clients may also travel in small groups to off-campus meetings during their stay at Red Oak Recovery®. Our leadership team, clinical technicians, therapists, and team members strive to uphold and reinforce 12 step principles in their day-to-day actions and interactions with others, modeling for our clients the essence of an authentic life based on:

  1. Honesty
  2. Hope
  3. Surrender
  4. Courage
  5. Integrity
  6. Willingness
  7. Humility
  8. Brotherly/Sisterly Love
  9. Discipline/Self-inquiry
  10. Perseverance
  11. Awareness
  12. Service

Transformative. At Red Oak Recovery®, we understand that transformation is born when we can be fully present to growth and change. Arriving to those places where openness is possible, however, takes time and hard work. Our program emphasizes upholding the first four principles of Honesty, Hope, Surrender, and Courage as a framework for living in the community and accessing pathways to change. We also encourage the 12th principal, Service, as engaging in acts of selfless service actively unifies all of the steps for the greater good of all. Ultimately, the Twelve Steps and their underlying principals serve as practical tools for a bright future of sustainable recovery and living with integrity. We honor the power of 12 step addiction recovery and the personal processes our clients will take in order to discover their relevance.
