  • A strong support system
  • Better family relations

Our Philosophy of Integrated Mental Health Care

The young adult rehab programs at Red Oak Recovery® are like no other. Our treatment plan focuses on clinical care, addressing substance abuse, trauma, and the underlying emotional issues that are often present. Our program is centered on helping clients free themselves from the destructive thoughts, actions, and self-sabotage that stem from addiction, trauma, and mental illness.

Our Master’s level clinicians hold dual credentials, licensed in both mental health and clinical addictions, and work with clients to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses mental health along with substance use disorders and unresolved trauma to increase the likelihood of long-term recovery. We help our clients learn to not only deal with the past but to enhance the quality of day-to-day life. As a small program, we tailor the program to meet each client’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs.

For many young adults, addiction is coupled with emotional and social issues. Many young adults, for instance, may have problems dealing with anger and expressing it in a healthy way or they may struggle with low self-esteem – and alcohol or drugs may have been used to escape these feelings. Some come co-occurring issues among young adults include:

  • Anxiety
  • Disordered Eating
  • Trauma
  • Depression
  • Anger
  • Low self-esteem
  • Grief
  • Family and interpersonal relationship problems
  • Compulsive behaviors

Sometimes these issues predate drug and alcohol use, and sometimes it’s the other way around. We believe in addressing all issues in a simultaneous, holistic and integrated fashion, regardless of which came first. This approach is essential for recovery, as patients learn to identify the underlying issues that drive the disease of addiction, recover from the shame surrounding their illness, and better relate to self and others.
