The Red Oak Difference: Focused on Men

Our program is uniquely designed for men, addressing the specific challenges they face in addiction and mental health. We use a trauma-informed approach to understand the root causes of substance use. This holistic method combines evidence-based therapies with activities like adventure and wilderness therapy. We help you build self-esteem and develop healthy coping mechanisms for the real world. We know that substance use affects men in unique ways. Men often struggle with stress management, anger, and self-esteem issues that fuel their addiction. Our clinicians are specially trained to address these gender-specific challenges. We create a safe space where men can be vulnerable, share their stories, and learn from each other. This exclusive focus on men’s needs sets us apart from other treatment centers.

Trauma-Informed Treatment

Many people struggling with addiction have experienced trauma. Trauma is any experience that causes psychological pain or injury. Situations that may be traumatic include living through a natural disaster, witnessing violence, experiencing physical or sexual assault, or suffering abuse. Many people attempt to cope with the effects of trauma by abusing drugs and alcohol.

Our trauma-informed approach helps you identify and understand the emotions you are struggling with and their causes. We help you understand where you want to go in the future and develop healthy ways to process your past. Through this compassionate treatment, our clients can begin to heal and move forward with their lives.

Mental Health and Co-Occurring Disorders

Another common cause of substance use disorders is an underlying mental health condition. Research shows that over nine million people suffer from both an addiction and a mental health condition. Regardless of which caused the other, it is critical to find concurrent treatment for both conditions. This type of treatment is called co-occurring disorders treatment or dual diagnosis treatment.

At Red Oak Recovery®, we provide a range of co-occurring treatment options, including PTSD treatment, anxiety treatment, depression treatment, and disordered eating treatment. Our dedicated therapists create personalized mental health treatment plans that include one-on-one, family, and group therapy sessions. They often employ a variety of techniques to cater to each individual’s specific diagnoses, symptoms, and needs. With dual diagnosis treatment, we help clients learn to cope with their symptoms and their substance use, giving them the best possible chance for long-term recovery.

Holistic Healing for Complete Recovery

Red Oak Recovery - NC

Addiction is a condition that significantly impacts the user’s body, mind, and soul, which can leave a lasting impact if one doesn’t find the appropriate treatment. Holistic treatment addresses the damage to the user’s entire person. With the proper combination of holistic healing, we can replace the client’s triggers with healthy methods of coping. This allows them to conquer their trauma, mental health issues, and substance use disorders, allowing them to attain lasting recovery.

Our holistic treatments include yoga therapy, meditation therapy, experiential therapy, adventure therapy, and wilderness therapy. These activities provide engaging healing opportunities to complement the evidence-based therapies we offer. You will learn to connect with nature, your body, and your inner strength. These practices create a foundation for long-term wellness and sobriety.

Healing Families Through Connection

Addiction doesn’t just touch the person using substances. It affects their loved ones and friends, causing them to struggle with their relationships and feel like they can’t trust those around them. It’s important to involve loved ones in the recovery process, as it supports both the person in recovery and their loved ones.

Our family program helps loved ones find a way back to wholeness and connection while supporting the recovery of their family members. Family therapy sessions allow you to rebuild relationships and educate your loved ones about the disease and how they can support you in recovery. Connection is one of the most important aspects of recovery, and we help our clients reclaim a life they are proud of without the use of drugs or alcohol.

Preparing for a Lasting Future

The goal of our Residential Program is to prepare you for a successful life after treatment. We focus on developing strong relapse prevention skills and a solid support network. As you complete this phase, we help you transition smoothly to a lower level of care, such as our Outpatient Program. This careful planning ensures your recovery continues long after you leave our campus.

Before you leave Red Oak Recovery®, we work with you to create a comprehensive aftercare plan. This plan includes ongoing therapy, support group participation, and strategies for maintaining your sobriety. We help you identify your triggers and develop healthy coping mechanisms. Our goal is not just to help you get sober, but to help you build a life worth living.
