Trauma-Focused Clinical Care

Trauma informed treatment, women's program

Located on a beautiful and spiritually uplifting 38-acre campus including pastures, ponds, walking trails, and mountain views, our program is best described as a holistic, integrated care model focusing on individualized clinical care.

We utilize the latest research-supported clinical modalities to ensure sustained recovery while addressing clinical issues in a simultaneous and integrated fashion.

At The Willows at Red Oak Recovery®, our goal is to not only deal with the past, but to enhance the quality of the day-to-day experience for young adult women. Our program as a whole is centered on providing freedom from the progressive loops and patterns of destructive thoughts, actions, and self-sabotage that stem from trauma and addiction. As a small program, we meet the client where they are at and are able to tailor the program to meet the client's needs.

The Willows at Red Oak Recovery® is an environment that is focused on safety. We understand that by creating external physical safety in all aspects of our clients’ time in recovery, the foundation for internal safety is created as well. The feel of Red Oak Recovery® is naturally one of home; where each woman is honored and respected in a close-knit group of individuals who are committed to exploring the depths of recovery. The expansive, open spaces of The Willows at Red Oak Recovery® offer opportunities for our clients to spend the solitary time they need for processing, meditation, and stillness in connection with nature.

Trauma Informed Treatment Modalities

In helping women to recover from the impact of trauma in their lives, we utilize an integrated approach to women’s treatment, based on theory, research, and clinical experience. These are just some of the modalities used:

Personalized Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders

Personalized Treatment for Co-Occurring DisordersAt Red Oak Recovery®, our clinical team’s priority is to create a safe space for women to begin the journey of healing, a process that seeks to empower them and increase their sense of self.

Comprised of Master’s level, multi- licensed therapists in mental health, clinical addictions, and trauma, our clinical team understands the challenge of co-occurring mental health disorders and creates a personalized treatment plan to ensure individual needs are met. We address the underlying emotional issues that are fueling self-destructive thoughts and behavior. Some common co-occurring issues we treat are:

Our highly experienced, multi-credentialed clinical team understands the emotional challenges that are a normal part of primary care and early recovery. We are committed to supporting our client through this process with compassion, respect, and dignity.

Flexibile Length of Stay Options

According to research, longer lengths of stay in treatment correlate with improved outcomes. We offer a flexible length of stay, averaging 90-100 days. This longer length of stay allows our clients to learn new ways of being in the world, and to practice those new positive coping skills in a safe and nurturing environment. This extended length of stay supports powerful transformations and opportunities for women to step into their power and reclaim their lives.

We present each young woman with a vast variety of opportunities to be integrated into her journey toward sustained life-long recovery. Our clients are empowered through the adventure therapy program where time spent outdoors hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, fly fishing, or white-water rafting opens doors toward deep self-inquiry. Service projects engage clients in acts of giving and selflessness that empower and alight the spirit and each client can explore the multidimensional gifts of mindfulness in action through experiential therapies such as gardening, horticulture, cooking, meditation, and martial arts. Nutritional therapy approaches food and eating holistically. We value the importance a healthy relationship with food has on a lasting and fulfilling recovery. Our intention is to educate and encourage our young women to make inspired choices in the food they prepare and eat.

“If an organism is stuck in survival mode, its energies are focused on fighting off unseen enemies, which leaves no room for nurture, care, and love.” ~Bessel van der Kolk
